Frequently Asked Questions

What are your prices?
If you’d like to receive a pricing list, please send through an enquiry and let me know what type of ceremony you are looking for. I would require a £150 non-refundable deposit to confirm the booking, and the remaining funds (including any additional extras) would be due six weeks before the ceremony date.

Do you travel?
Yes! I am based in Somerset and can travel for free within a 20 mile radius. If your venue is further afield, there may be some additional travel costs, but I’d be very happy to travel for you!

What makes a celebrant different from a registrar?
As a celebrant, I cannot legally marry you; this is the job of a qualified registrar with whom you’ll be able to arrange the legal marriage paperwork at a registry office. Together, you and I will work on creating a wedding ceremony to celebrate your marriage with your loved ones. We can talk through more of the specifics of this during our initial meeting.

How long will the ceremony be?
It’s up to you! Most ceremonies can last anywhere between 15 minutes to 1 hour. We can discuss the length of the ceremony, as well as other parameters you’d like to stick to, during the planning process.

I’d like to write my own vows - can you help?
Absolutely! Sometimes it is hard to put your thoughts and feelings onto paper, but I would love to help you sort through your ideas and write something that is truly special. If you’d both like to keep your vows a secret from each other until the big day, I can also act as an intermediary to give you pointers on a length and style that complements with your partner’s vows.

I want to organise a ceremony, but don’t know where to start!
That’s not a problem - you aren’t expected to know what you’re doing, which is why I am here to help! I will advise on suggested orders of items in your ceremony as well as helping you decide from lots of different elements including readings, music and symbolic rituals.

I have a question about something else.
Please do get in touch, and I’d be happy to have a chat.
